Short Point Beach is a popular spot for walkers, surfers, divers, and those who love to relax on the sand or the grassy foreshore. The headland includes amenities and a lookout platform, as well as sun deck chairs, enhancing the laid-back coastal feel. A short walk down the cliff from the car park gives quick access to the beach. The grassy reserve area includes a signposted off-leash dog walking area, and during the spring months, the headland is a fantastic whale-watching location to view passing humpback whales. The southern end of the beach is patrolled during the summer months. The beach is also great for rock fishing, with multiple spots to throw a line in, and there are toilets and picnic tables on the hillside parkland
