Hermit's Cave is a heritage-listed complex of stone structures on Scenic Hill, featuring a complex of shelters, terraced gardens, exotic plants, water-cisterns, dry-stone walling, and linking bridges, stairways, and paths. The site was created by Valerio Ricetti, an Italian migrant who lived on the site from 1929 to 1952. The cave features rock paintings of small daisies, hearts, and anchors, and includes a chapel area with a natural high domed ceiling and painted religious iconography. Visitors can explore the site via a 1.07 km self-guided trail, which takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. The site is recognized for being a rare example of an Australian hermit's domain and is a great place to visit for those interested in history, nature, and unique landscapes. However, visitors are cautioned to take care as the paths and steps leading to the various areas of the site are steep and hazardous, especially when wet
