What to expect

The Dubbo Observatory is a great place for families to explore the night sky. Visitors can view the planets, stars, and galaxies through telescopes at night. The observatory offers a 75-minute Night Sky & Telescope Viewing Session, which starts with an informative presentation under the stars, followed by viewing the planets and stars through the telescopes. For a more detailed and personal experience, visitors can book a Premium Session or an exclusive 2-hour astrophotography session. A gift shop is also available where visitors can purchase astronomy books and gifts. The observatory welcomes people with access needs and has facilities such as a car park and non-smoking areas
