Fort Bourke Hill Lookout

Viewpoint Cobar, New South Wales, Australia

What to expect

Fort Bourke Hill Lookout offers a wonderful vista of the Cobar landscape, with a well-constructed viewing platform providing a spectacular view of the open pit and entrance to the underground mine. The lookout is located 2km from town and is accessible via a sealed road. The rich Cobar mineral belt is clearly visible in a straight line from North to South, and the lookout is a great spot to watch the sunset. The hill is also the historical site of Cobar's first gold mine, the New Cobar Gold Mine, and is now home to an underground mine operated by Peak Gold Mines
