It was designed by Charles Harding and Cecil W. Darley and built from 1899 to 1901. The lighthouse is Australia's most powerful, with a light intensity of 2,200,000 candelas. The surrounding area is home to a variety of flora and fauna, and the lighthouse offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can take a tour of the lighthouse, visit the Maritime Museum, or enjoy the surrounding walking tracks and scenic views. The area is also a popular spot for whale watching, with humpback whales passing by between June and November each year
