What to expect

The Bruce Langford Visitors Centre is home to the Royal Flying Doctor Outback Heritage Experience, located in a working Royal Flying Doctor Service base next to Broken Hill airport. The experience offers a behind-the-scenes look at the heroic history and current-day operations of the service, which has been providing medical care to remote-living Australians since 1928. Visitors can explore an interactive museum, see the operation control room in action, and learn about the vast distances covered by the flying doctors. The Broken Hill base alone covers 640,000 square kilometers of outback and is the largest Royal Flying Doctor base in Australia. The centre also has a shop where visitors can purchase Flying Doctor branded merchandise
