The Montreal Goldfield is a historic site located near Bermagui, New South Wales, Australia. It is an intact example of alluvial diggings from the 1880s and the only goldfield in Australia that goes into the sea. Visitors can take a guided tour through the goldfield, which is a unique experience for all ages. The tour follows boardwalks and compacted paths through a beautiful native forest of tree ferns, eucalypts, and orchids, inhabited by sugar gliders, lizards, and diverse bird life. The site also features old mine shafts, a Heritage Centre, and toilet facilities. The tour is approximately 1¼ hours long and covers a distance of 450 meters, making it wheelchair accessible. Dogs are welcome on a lead and under the owner's control. The goldfield has a rich history, with prospectors discovering alluvial gold in the area in 1880, leading to a gold rush and the establishment of a settlement known as Montreal
