What to expect

The Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins is a state-listed heritage industrial site and a must-see destination. The site features the remarkable stone ruins of the ingenious Reefer ore crushing machine, built by Scotsmen David Wilson and William Ritchie. Visitors can view the ruins from a wheelchair-accessible platform or take a walk of about an hour down to Adelong Creek and the ruins. The site also includes an interpretive area providing a comprehensive history of the site. The Adelong Falls is a popular swimming hole during the warmer months and a great spot for walking and picnics. The 'Adelong Falls Walk' links the Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins to the town of Adelong, a walk of about 2km along Adelong Creek
