The Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex is a satellite communication station and part of the Deep Space Network of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It is located in the Paddys River valley and is used for tracking and communicating with NASA's spacecraft, particularly interplanetary missions. The complex has five large antennas and is also used for tracking the Apollo Lunar Module. It is managed in Australia by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation for NASA's Space Communications and Navigation program. The complex is open to the public and has a visitor centre with a photo gallery and tracking schedule. The complex is situated near the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and is shielded from the city's radio frequency noise by the surrounding hills
