What to expect

The National Arboretum Canberra is a 250-hectare arboretum featuring a mosaic of living forests and gardens, offering breathtaking views, unique experiences, and a world-class entertainment and events hub. With over 44,000 rare and endangered trees, the Arboretum is a place of beauty, conservation, scientific research, education, tourism, and recreation. It includes the award-winning Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, the popular Village Centre, and the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia. The arboretum has various plantings, including a forest of Turkish Pine, a species native to the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey, and a number of ceremonial Aleppo Pines. It also features several pieces of monumental public art and has a eucalyptus forest representative of remnant and former forests of the Southern Tablelands region. The arboretum is family-friendly, with facilities such as a cafe, gift shop, picnic area, and public toilets, and it welcomes and assists people with disabilities
