The Perito Moreno Glacier is a glacier located in Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Argentine Patagonia. The glacier is 30 km in length, 5 km in width, and has a total ice depth of 170 meters. It is one of 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, which is the world's third largest reserve of fresh water. The glacier is known for its spectacular ruptures, where the pressure produced by the height of the dammed water breaks through the ice barrier, sending a massive outpouring of water from the Brazo Rico side of the lake. The park where the glacier is located was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981 and is a great place to visit with family and friends to learn about the era of ice and the biodiversity of the region
