Zvërnec

Zvërnec is a community in Vlorë County, Albania, situated northwest of the city of Vlorë. The surrounding region is full of salt marshes, and Narta Lagoon, which hosts a unique ecosystem, lies north of the village. Near the village lies the island that bears the same name, and the Byzantine monastery dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God. The island is nearly all covered with tall pine trees and is connected to the mainland by a 270m long wooden bridge. The Zvërnec Monastery is an old Byzantine monastery dedicated to Virgin Mary and is a great place to visit with family and friends. The monastery is situated on a small island, where you can also organize a picnic with your loved ones
