The Blue Eye

Spring Finiq, Vlora, Albania

What to expect

The Blue Eye, also known as 'Syri i Kaltër' in Albanian, is a natural wonder and a popular tourist attraction. It is a unique natural phenomenon where crystal-clear water bubbles forth from a stunning, more than fifty-meter-deep pool. The water is so clear that you can see the riverbed even from a depth of fifty meters. The Blue Eye is the initial water source of the Bistricë River, which stretches for 25 kilometers and eventually flows into the Ionian Sea. The surrounding area is a protected natural monument, adorned with oak and sycamore trees, and features walking and hiking trails. While swimming is officially prohibited, visitors can still enjoy the serene surroundings and take a leisurely stroll along the trails. The Blue Eye is a year-round attraction, but it can get quite busy during the summer season
