What to expect

Rozafa Castle is a historic castle located near the city of Shkodër, in northwestern Albania. The castle rises imposingly on a rocky hill, 130 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Buna and Drin rivers. It has a long and rich history, with the earliest fortification walls dating back to the 4th-3rd century BCE, and has been controlled by various empires and kingdoms throughout the centuries, including the Illyrian kingdom, Roman Empire, and Ottoman Empire. The castle has been the site of several famous sieges and is now an Archaeological Park of Albania. This family's experience:

Activities: We visited the main attraction of Shkodra, Rozafa Castle. "The ruin thrones on a 130-meter-high hill. Walls and remains of buildings are mainly what is left. Still, the area is absolutely worth seeing. The view alone is awesome!"

Highlights: The view from the castle was awesome! The history of the castle and the legend of Rozafa were also very interesting ✨
